Kalam, a source of inspiration to hyundai Motors MD

Chennai, Nov 11 (UNI) Praising President A P J Abdul Kalam as an ''excellent role model,'' Hyundai Motors India Ltd Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Heung Soo Lheem today said India would reach greater heights under his able guidance.

Addressing young graduates at the convocation of Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) here, Mr Lheem said he happened to read Dr Kalam's biography and wanted to meet him.

''I was overwhelmed by his integrity, honesty and passion for the development of India. Under his able guidance, India will reach great heights,'' he said.

Calling upon young professionals not to compromise on their integrity in any situation, he said identification of one's true potential and nurturing of relationships would help them to overcome challenges.

Striking a personal note, Mr Lheem recalled his humble beginnings in Hyundai Motors in 1973 and said ''If today, I have reached this stage, it was due to my integrity and committment.'' He also urged young professionals to take up some form of social work for their personal satisfaction.

He announced that Hyundai Motors would offer scholarship to one meritorious student of Business Administration.
