DLF to set up Rs 1,000cr IT Sez in Orissa
New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) DLF Limited today announced that it has been awarded a Rs 1,000 crore contract by the Orissa government to set up the state's first Information Technology Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The lease-cum-development agreement was signed between Orissa Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) and DLF for developing 54 acres of land opposite InfoCity in Chandaka Industrial Estate, Bhubaneswar.
The project envisages construction of 4.12 million square feet of built up space, of which a minimum of 60 per cent would be dedicated to IT.
The land would be made available to the company, selected through an open competitive bidding process, on 70-year lease basis at Rs 44 crore, about Rs 81 lakh per acre.
The amount, Rs 1,000 crore, is inclusive of land acquisition.
Mr Vishal Dev, Director, Department of IT, Orissa, said that the project would give a boost to the growth of IT and ITeS services in the state creating direct employment opportunities for about 25,000 software professionals.
He was addressing the VAR India IT Award ceremony here.
He said apart from 60 per cent of the built up area that will be used for IT, rest will be used for building a five star hotel, an integrating office, and business and recreational needs.
