Bollywood movie looks at lives of young expats
Dubai, Nov 11 (UNI) A full-length Hindi feature film on the lives of the Asian expatriate workers here, filmed entirely in the UAE is all set for release in two weeks.
'Rehguzar', or The Road to Destiny explores the trials and tribulations of young men from the subcontinent coming to work in the Gulf to make a living, follow their dreams and perhaps fall in love.
"It is the real story of labourers in labour camps in the Gulf.
Life is not so easy in the Gulf and most of the expatriates have to work very hard to make their mark in order to live up to the expectations of their family members," said Kesar Kothari, producer of 'Rehguzar'.
"I've been in the Gulf for 25 years and when I first arrived here I had friends who were in the labour camps and they told me of their life, housing and food. This is not a biography but I have good experience of the situation," he added.
The film is set for release in India on November 17 and may also be released around the same date in the UAE, a report in the Gulf News said.
