BJP MP illegally took over farmer's 14 acres land: Cong
Bhopal, Nov 11 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress has alleged that BJP MP and former minister Lakshmi Narayan Sharma has illegally taken 14 acres land belonging to a farmer and demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter.
State Congress General Secretary Manak Agrawal told a press conference here that 14.5 acre land at Munliya Haat village belonged to late Shyamlal Nath but it was being shown as part of 'Mandir Trust' on the basis of fake documents. Mr Sharma is the convenor of the trust.
Mr Agrawal claimed that the Mr Sharma had set his eyes on the land from some time and he had even sold it to somebody.
The Congress leader alleged that the BJP MP pressurised the Divisional Commissioner to send a team of district administration officials to the village. The team destroyed standing crops and forced Shyamlal's son Narayan Nath to put his thumb impression on some documents.
He claimed that the action was taken despite the fact that Narayan had challenged the trust's claim of ownership of the land in the court and had obtained stay order from it.
Mr Agrawal said a previous investigation had made it clear that the land was not registered in the name of the trust in government records.
He said the Congress will resort to agitation if a high-level inquiry was not ordered into the matter. The farmer and his family members were present in the press conference.
