New Delhi, Nov 11: Private electricity distribution company BSES Yamuna has booked 95 cases of power theft worth 2781 KW in the last ten months from Kusht Ashram near Shahdara in East Delhi.

A number of ''illegal factories'' making ice cream cones, plastic moulding and electro-plating were running on stolen electricity amounting to nearly Rs 11 crore in penalties, a statement said today.

A city court recently sent two such accused from the area to 14-day judicial custody for stealing power worth 33 KW amounting to Rs 26 lakh.

Kusht Ashram was known for things ranging from tin sheets to beautiful rugs, which were sold at posh outlets in South Delhi and even exported.
