SC dismisses petition of man claiming to be Sridevi's husband

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) The Supreme Court has rejected a petition challenging the order of Madras High Court dismissing a plea by an individual who claimed to be the husband of film actress Sridevi and sought restitution of his conjugal rights.

The petitioner Vicharapu Ramkrishna Gowd had claimed that the film actress was his duly wedded wife and she had left him without any justification and therefore she should be directed to remarry him.

A bench comprising of Justices B N Agarwal and P P Naolekar yesterday dismissed the petition on the grounds that it was wholly frivolous and misconceived.

The petitioner will have now to pay a sum of Rs 1 lakh imposed earlier by the Madras High Court.
