Mumbai, Nov 10 (UNI) Trial into the Pramod Mahajan murder case was deferred till November 21 after the defence moved an application before the session court today demanding certain documents pertaining to the case from the prosecution.

Defence counsel Harshad Ponda moved an application before additional sessions judge Srihari Davare seeking medical records of Pramod Mahajan during the latter's hospitalisation at the Hinduja hospital. The defence counsel also sought the ''panchanama'' reports and certain other documents.

Following this, the court adjourned the matter till November 21 to provide time to the prosecution for filing its reply.

The matter was last heard on October 31 when special public prosecutor Ujwal Nikam had submitted before the court that financial dispute was not the motive behind the murder as the accused, Pravin Mahajan, was earning a fat salary of Rs 75,000 per month.

Pravin Mahajan was arrested on April 22 this year by the Worli Police after he allegedly fired three rounds at Pramod Mahajan, grievously injuring the latter who passed away subsequently after fighting a protracted battle for life.

Initially, Pravin Mahajan was booked for attempting to murder.

Thereafter, he was booked for murder after Pramod Mahajan succumbed to his injuries on May 3.

Meanwhile, the judicial custody of Pravin Mahajan was also extended till November 21.
