Panthers Party J-K secretary escapes bid on life
Srinagar, Nov 10 (UNI) Militants made an abortive bid on the life of state secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Panthers Party (PP) when they attacked his guarded house with grenades in central Kashmir late last night, official sources said.
They said militants hurled a hand grenade towards the house of PP leader Nazir Ahmad Mir at Wusan, Ganderbal. However, it exploded near the main gate causing injuries to a constable of the state police.
Mr Mir and his family members escaped unhurt in the attack, they said.
Meanwhile, PP, supporting the coalition government in the state, alleged that authorities had failed to provide proper security to its leaders.
In a statement here today, the coordination general secretary H S Jamwal condemned the attack on Mir.
