Nimbus wins Bangladesh cricket marketing deal
DHAKA, Nov 10 (Reuters) Singapore-based Nimbus Communications Limited has won a tender from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to sell marketing rights for six years until 2012, a senior BCB official said yesterday.
''We have accepted the Nimbus offer of .88 million for the deal. An agreement in this regard will be signed soon,'' Ali Asghar, president of BCB, told Reuters.
The other contender for the deal, India's Zee Telefilms Limited trailed Nimbus with a bid of 35.30 million dollars.
The tender, which was floated late last month, closed on Wednesday.
The five-year, 11.75 million dollars television rights acquired by ESPN-Star Sports from BCB expired in April.
Bangladesh, one of the 10 test-playing nations, is expected to play some 40 test-matches and over 100 one-day internationals during the six-year period.
