Indian Railways carry 403.55 MT of freight in Apr-Oct 06

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) Indian Railways have carried 403.55 million tonnes (MT) of revenue earning freight traffic during April one to October 31, this year. The freight carried shows an increase of 36.63 MT over the freight traffic of 366.92 MT actually carried during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 9.98 per cent.

During the month of October 2006, the revenue earning freight traffic carried by Indian Railways was 58.98 MT. There is an increase of 5.55 MT over the actual freight traffic of 53.43 MT actually carried by the Indian Railways during the same period last year, an increase of 10.39 per cent, said an official statement issued here today.
