Indian edition of 'Men's Health' launched

Mumbai, Nov 10 (UNI) India Today Group has launched the Indian edition of 'Men's Health', the largest men's magazine in the world, at a star-studded function attended by Bollywood Star John Abraham.

Speaking at the function, India Today Group Chief Executive Officer Ashish Bagga said ''In today's attention-dwindling times, with the wide variety of information sources available, niche media is the way to target specific interest groups.'' ''As the country's largest magazine publisher, identifying such niche areas and bringing into India well-respected international media brands is an important part of the growth strategy of the India Today Group,'' Mr. Bagga said.

According to Men's Health publishing director Pavan Varshneiy, ''With men getting increasingly savvy and conscious about their lifestyle and overall well-being, it is a fitting time to give them a complete guidebook on how to live healthier and happier. Men's Health will inspire and enable men to improve their lives and the world around them.'' ''Men's Health will not just show men what they can be, but also tell them how they can be what they really want to be,'' he added.

Being the world's largest men's lifestyle magazine with a worldwide readership of over 20 million readers across 43 countries, the Indian edition of Men's Health will be the 37th edition.

The premier issue will cover a wide range of topics from health, fitness, nutrition, sex, relationships, style, and gadgets to gizmos.

The issue will have special features on ''Get Back in Shape'' with a case study on weight loss, findings of a global sex survey, secrets for runners to avoid injury and increase speed and new technological advances to fight an ailment of heart disease.

Men's Health launched in 1988 is published by Rodale Press in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, and US. The magazine has won several awards and has been on 'hot lists' of several publishers' listings.
