Hmar tribes asked Manipuris to leave Churanchandpur

Aizawl, Nov 10 (UNI) Following the appeal of a section of NGOs and churches, Hmar National Assembly (HNA), the apex body of Hmar tribe, has set a deadline for Meiteis (Manipuris) settled in Hmar-dominated Churanchandpur of Manipur along Mizoram-Manipur border to leave area by next week.

Police sources here said HNA has asked the Meities in Churachandpur district to leave latest by November 15 in protest against the action of Meitei rebels against the Hmar population of Parbung and Lungthulien villages of Mizoram border early this year.
