Egypt police find more explosives in Sinai
ISMAILIA, Egypt, Nov 10 (Reuters) Egyptian police today seized 200 Kg of explosives on Friday and arrested two men suspected of planning to smuggle it into Gaza using a tunnel running under the border, police sources said.
Israel says the Egypt-Gaza border area is riddled with tunnels used by Palestinian militants to smuggle in arms and explosives to be used against the Jewish state. Israeli monitoring of the traffic has been difficult since Israel withdrew from the coastal strip last year.
In the past three weeks, police have repeatedly intercepted weapons or explosives destined for the Palestinian territories.
On Tuesday, 250 kg were seized.
