Dubai police deny arrest of Dawood aides
Dubai, Nov 10 (UNI) The Dubai police has denied news reports about the arrest of members of Dawood Ibrahim's gang in the emirate.
''There are no such people in Dubai prisons. May be they are in some other emirate,'' a top Dubai Central Jail official Brigadier Khamis Saeed Khamis Al Suwaid told the Gulf Today.
An official at the Indian Consulate in Dubai also said the mission had no information about the arrest of Indian nationals though he admitted that the Indian authorities were on the look out for the gang.
A report in an Indian newspaper said Qayoom, Arif Bhaijan, Salim Furat, Iqbal Kalia and Shahidbhai, all members of Dawood gang, were held in the United Arab Emirates in a crackdown.
Dawood was based in Dubai before he was forced to move to Pakistan. His associates are believed to have business interests in the UAE.
