Discussions on role of media in conflict areas held

Imphal, Nov 10 (UNI) An international seminar cum workshop on media in conflict situation was held today at Imphal by All Manipur Working Journalists' Union and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Head of the ICRC regional delegation, ICRC legal advisor Surinder Oberoi, Communication officer of the ICRC and other experts presented papers on humanitarian laws.

Chairperson of the United Nations Association, Manipur (UNAM) Dr Lokendro Arambam said people should be aware of the international humanitarian law.

Dr Arambam also dealt on armed conflict, media and international humanitarian law.
