Court seeks case diary of RJD MP Shahabuddin

Patna, Nov 10 (UNI) Patna High Court today sought the case diary of incarcerated RJD MP Md Shahabuddin in connection with his regular bail application.

A single bench of the court of Justice Navin Sinha demanded the lower court to furnish the case diary of Md Shahabuddin related to a criminal matter in which the RJD MP had allegedly filed a fake affidavit at the time of 2004 Parliamentry election.

The government pleader informed the court about the criminal case lodged against Md Shahabuddin in Siwan police station on April 22, 2005.

The controversial RJD MP in his affidavit filed before the Election Commission had mentioned only about pendancy of 19 criminal cases, whereas 34 criminal cases were lodged against him in different poice stations of Siwan at that time.

Meanwhile, through a petition the counsel of Md Shahabuddin requested the court to transfer the cases being heard by the special court on the Siwan jail campus to some other court following the threats given in the name of Shahabuddin to the judge concerned of the special court.

The matter would be heard on November 13.
