CII organises film market during Kolkata Film Festival
Kolkata, Nov 10 (UNI) A week-long "Film Market" for the promotion of regional and short films from India to the world market has been organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) here from tomorrow.
The Film Market will be functional side by side with the 12th Kolkata (International) Film Festival, which began today.
Altogether 225 films from 53 countries wuld be screened till next Friday in eight venues.
CII sources here today said as part of the Film Market, a Hanger would be installed at Nandan, the main venue of the Kolkata Film Festival, to create an opportunity for leading film distributors to showcase their products and promote the reach of regional cinema to national and international markets.
To be inaugurated by Kolkata Film Festival Director Nilanjan Chatterjee in presence of noted film maker Buddhadeb Dasgupta, actor Prasenjit Chatterjee and CII National Committee on Trade Policy Chairman Sanjay Budhia, the Film Market would remain open till the end of the Festival on November 17.
