BJP advocates tough stand against Pakistan
Mumbai, Nov 10 (UNI) BJP President Rajnath Singh today said the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre should take a tough stand against Pakistan and summon its High Commissioner to warn that if terrorist activities against India did not stop within one or two months, India would sever all diplomatic relations with Islamabad.
Talking to reporters, after inaugurating the three-day workshop of Ministers from BJP-ruled states, organised at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini at Uttan near here, Mr Singh said India should make such a diplomatic move, so that Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI would come under international watch.
Lamenting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement that talks would continue with Pakistan, the BJP President said he expected at least a stern message should have been given to Pakistan by denying them aerospace.
Recalling the NDA-rule, he said the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had started dialogue with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf only after the latter's public commitment of making efforts to curb terrorism on January 4, 2004.
''BJP wants good relations with neighbouring countries but this will be possible only when terrorist activities originating from Pakistan are controlled,'' he added.
