300 athletes to participate in second Great Himalayan run

Shimla, Nov 10 (UNI) Over 3,000 participants are expected to take part in the Second Great Himalayan run being organised here on November 12 to create awareness on sports, health and tourism, Youth Services and Sports Joint Director Suman Rawat sid today.

The run has been divided into three categories of 12 km for men, eight km for women and six km for both boys and girls between 17 to 19 years, she said.

Ms Rawat said the run would start from the Ridge at 1100 hrs and would pass through Chaura Maidan, Advance Study and back to Scandal Point, Reporting Room, Indira Gandhi State Sport Complex, Shimla Club, Oakover, Portmore School, Raj Bhavan, Indus Hospital, Medical College Hostel, IGMC, Lakkar Bazar before coming to an end at the Ridge.

First 10 runners in each group would be given a citation and a cash prize, she added.
