Patnaik to build Taj replica at Doha Asiad

New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) Internationally famed sand artist Sudarsan Patnaik has been invited by the 15th Asiad organisers to create a Taj Mahal in sand at the main venue of the Doha Asian Games starting from December 1.

Patnaik talking to UNI, said he would be leaving for Doha in Qatar on November 13 to create the miniature replica of the marble wonder built by 17th century Moghul King Shahjehan in memory of his wife Mumtaj Mahal.

''Apart from the replica of Taj Mahal, I have been asked to built the logo and a mascot in sand of the Asian Games,'' said Patnaik from Puri in Orissa.

He would be assisted by four of his students who would be accompanying him. By the date of opening of the games on December 1, the sculptures would be ready, he said.

Earlier, Patnaik had built replica of Taj mahal in Agra last year and another in Houston in the United States two years back.
