Novartis to start medical related IT activities

Hyderabad, Nov 9 (UNI) Novartis, the fourth largest pharmaceutical company in the world, has zeroed in on Sultanpur in Andhra Pradesh for augmenting and expanding medical care related IT, ITES and R and D activities in India and requested for allotment of 150 acres of land for setting up their ITES and R and D activities.

An MoU was signed between IT and C department and Vice-Chairman and MD Novartis India Ranjit Shahani in the presence of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and several other Ministers and dignitaries.

Mr Shahani said Novartis would initially employ over 1,000 IT professionals in their proposed IT, ITES, R and D activity, ramping up the same between 3,000 to 5,000 people and would invest about Rs 500 crore in the years to come.
