Mizoram CM to visit Bangladesh to improve bilateral relations
Aizawl, Nov 9 (UNI) The Bangladesh government has invited Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga to visit Dhaka.
The invitation has been conveyed through the Bangladesh High Commissioner in India, the official sources here today said.
Mr Zoramthanga is expected to leave for Bangladesh by early next year, the sources said adding ''improving border trade, controlling insurgent activities in the border area, opening up a land customs station in Bangaladesh and other related issues would be discussed during the Chief Minister's trip''.
Apart from this, trading community from both Bangladesh and Mizoram would also be invited for study tours and exchange of information regarding bilateral trade.
The bureaucrats here have already said that bamboo chips, ginger, orange, chillies, passion fruit cucumber, banana, papaya, sesamum and citrus could be exported from Mizoram.
