Metro

New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) As a probable step towards intergration of public transport in the national capital, the Delhi Metro and Delhi Transport Corp will have a combined daily pass from November 15.

The passes, costing Rs 95, would be valid for a day in all Delhi Metro Rail Corp and DTC routes. They would be available at all metro stations and DTC buses, Delhi Transport Minister Haroon Yusuf today said.

Till now Metro and DTC issue separate daily passes costing Rs 70 and Rs 25 respectively.

Efforts had been on for some time to have a combined ticketing system for the two modes of transport.

Meanwhile, the DMRC is all set to open the 2.81 km-long Barakhamba Road-Indraprastha section, comprising Mandi House, Pragati Maidan and Indraprastha stations, on November 11, just in time before the India International Trade Fair begins on November 14.

The metro has already announced that for the benefit of its passengers it would sell IITF ticket five rupees less than the normal rate.

DTC has also announced that it would run special, including pick and drop service and national capital region service, buses for trade fair.
