Govt promises all possible help for setting up film city in MP
Bhopal, Nov 9 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said the state government is ready to provide all possible assistance to film artists for more use of culture and natural heritage of the state in movies.
Mr Tomar, while addressing the four-day film festival organised at the Ravindra Bhawan here yesterday on the occasion of golden jubilee celebration of Madhya Pradesh, said the state government would also help in developing Film City by private sector in the state.
Culture Minister Lakshmikant Sharma was a special guest on the occasion.
During the festival, Madhya Pradesh-based Bollywood artists, who had made a mark in the film industry, were felicitated.
Singer Sudha Malhotra, actor Vijayendra Ghatge, scriptwriter Ashok Mishra, art director Jayant Deshmukh and singer-lyricist Swanand Kirkire were presented a 'shwal', and momento.
Elaborating on the steps taken to encourage business activities in the state, Mr Tomar said the government had done a commendable job in road, power and water sectors. He said 18,000-km road was constructed in the past three years.
Mr Sharma said films had always impacted public psyche. A proposal to set up Film City for enabling production of movies in the state was being considered. Besides, circuits were being developed in order to link tourist spots to religious places.
