GE Water wins sea water desalination plant project from Tata Chem
Mumbai, Nov 9 (UNI) GE Water&Process Technologies, a unit of GE Infrastructure, today announced that it has won its first sea water desalination plant project worth US dollars 6.5 million in India from Tata Chemicals.
GE Water and Process Technologies would provide Tata Chemicals a mobile sea water desalination plant for 4 years of operation on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis, a company release here said.
By supplying 5.8 million litres per day of industrial water and reducing energy and overall costs, the BOO project would lessen water scarcity issues presently faced by Tata Chemicals.
GE's latest desalination technology was capable of producing up to 3,00,000 m3/day of high quality potable water, while also helping to minimise water shortages.
