Dhampur Sugar's Rs 175 cr UP plant to kick off by month-end

New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) Dhampur Sugar Mills will commission its new plant with an installed capacity of 7,500 tonnes crushing per day (TCD) at Rajpura in Uttar Pradesh by month-end and has invested Rs 175 crore for the purpose.

The company is also undergoing a capacity expansion in sugar production, that will be enhanced from 30,750 TCD to 43,750 TCD by the end of this month with an investment of Rs 300 crore.

''We have invested Rs 300 crore for enhancing our sugar production at our three plants -- Dhampur, Asmoli and Mansurpur in Uttar Pradesh,'' company Executive President Arhant Jain told UNI today.

The company has also invested Rs 350 crore to increase its power capacity from 54 MW to 149 MW by March next year, Mr Jain said.

Giving the break-up of capacity expansion in different plants, he said the company has raised its capacity to 12,000 TCD to 14,000 TCD at its Dhampur plant and to 6,000 TCD to 9,000 TCD at its Asmoli plant.

Dhampur Sugar Mills have also hiked the sugar capacity at is Mansurpur plant to 7,000 TCD from the current level of 6,500 TCD.

The ethanol/chemical plant has also seen an enhanced production of 140 kilo litres per day (KLPD), up from 100 KLPD at the Dhampur plant.
