Counting for Nalanda, Bhagalpur seats begins

Patna, Nov 9: Counting of votes for the Nalanda and Bhagalpur parliamentary constituencies' bypoll, held on November six, began at 0800 hrs today amid tight security arrangements.

State election office here said results would be declared by this afternoon.

Prominent candidates whose political fate is already sealed in the EVMs include former union minister and BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain, ex-union minister Shakuni Chaudhari, former CPI(M) MP Subodh Rai from Bhagalpur seat and JD(U)leader Ramswaroop Prasad, JD(U) rebel candidate Arun Kumar as independent and Gaya Singh of the CPI from Nalanda.
