Counting for Nalanda and Bhagalpur seats begins

Patna, Nov 9 (UNI) The counting of votes for Nalanda and Bhagalpur parliamentary constituencies' bypoll that held on November 6 began at 0800 hrs today amid tight security arrangements.

State election office here said the results would be declared by this afternoon.

Prominent candidates whose political fate already sealed in the EVMs are former union minister and BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain, ex-union minister Shakuni Chaudhari, erstwhile CPI(M) MP Subodh Rai from Bhagalpur seat and JD(U)leader Ramswaroop Prasad, JD(U) rebel candidate Arun Kumar as independent, Gaya Singh of CPI from Nalanda.
