CCEA nod to 4/6 laning of 12 national highway sub-projects
New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved for exemption from Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) procedures 12 sub-projects for the four and six-laning of national highways under the National Highways Development Project Phase 11 and 111A on build, operate and transfer basis.
Since ex-post-facto approval had been given for eight sub-projects, for which bids had already been awarded, and approval given for award of four sub-projects, for which bids had been decided before the PPPAC was set up on October 27 last year, these projects had been exempted from PPPAC procedures, Finance Minister P Chidambaram told mediapersons after the CCEA meeting.
The eight sub-projects are: Tindivanam-Ulunderpet, Ulunderpet-Padalur, Padalur-Trichy, Jhansi-Lalitpur, Gwalior Bypass, Lakhnadon-Madhya Pradesh/Maharashtra border, Thanjavur-Trichy and Madurai-Tuticorin.
The four sub-projects are: Maharashtra-Andhra Pradesh Border-Islamnagar-Kadtal-Armur, End of Durg Bypass-Chhattisgarh/Maharashtra Border, Chhattisgarh/Maharashtra border-Wainganga Bridge and Kurali-Kiratpur.
Exemption of these projects from the PPPAC procedures will expedite their implementation, Mr Chidambaram said.
