Artistes oppose ban on dubbed film
Hyderabad, Nov 9 (UNI) Dubbing artistes today staged a dharna before the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce in protest against the decision of the Producers Council to ban the release of dubbed films in the state.
Talking to newspersons, Dubbing Artistes Association representative Ravi Shankar and noted artiste Mallikarjuna Rao said the decisiion of the Producers Council would affect the livelihood of thousands of dubbing artistes.
They said producers of Telugu film take the competition from movies of other languagues and try to improve the quality of production, instead of banning the entry of films of other languages into the state.
Mr Rao said the Chamber should intervene and stay the decision of the Producers Council.
Apart from Hindi and other South Indian movies, even English films were being dubbed into Telugu.
