3 Lashker militants among four killed, students injured in J
Srinagar, Nov 9 (UNI) Three militants of Pakistan based Lashker-e- Toiba (LeT) were among four people killed and two others, including a student, injured in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, official spokesman said.
He said security forces and police, in a joint operation, killed two LeT miltants Ashiq Hussain and Shabir Ahmad in a fierce encounter at Tanta Draman Gandoh in Doda district of Jammu region last night.
The encounter ensued after a search party was attacked by the militants. One AK rifle, one Self Loading Rifle (SLR) and other and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
In another similar encounter, security forces gunned down a LeT militant Gul Nawaz alias Hamza, at Kunthal in the same district.
A college student was shot at and critically wounded by unidentified gunmen in North Kashmir this morning, official sources said.
They said gunmen entered the house of Tariq Ahmad Wani, a student, at Doorusa Lolab in the frontier district of Kupwara at 0630 hrs this morning.
They shot at and critically wounded him, the sources said, adding the injured was hospitalised.
Militants entered the house of one Gulzar Hussain and shot dead his son Mohammad Amin. One neighbour Faiz Hussain was also injured in the shootout, he said adding the injured was hospitalised.
