Silver, gold declined on lack of fresh demand
Mumbai, Nov 8 (UNI) Spot silver and gold declined on lack of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Association said today.
Spot silver .999 fineness variety opened high at Rs 19,067 per kg on better demand. Later, it declined and closed at Rs 19,022 per kg with a loss of Rs 31 from its yesterday's close.
In London, the white metal was quoted stead at USD 12.60/12.63 per troy ounce against USD 12.60/12.63 per troy ounce in New York.
Similarly, standard gold (99.5) and pure gold (99.9) opened weak at Rs 9,099 and Rs 9,149 per ten grams respectively.
However, the yellow metal eased slightly and closed at Rs 9,092 and Rs 9,144 per ten gm with a loss of Rs 21 for standard gold and Rs 18 for pure gold from its last close.
In London, the yellow metal was low at USD 620/625 per troy ounce as compared to USD 623/626 per troy ounce at New York on Tuesday.
Following are the spot silver and gold closing prices today: Silver (per kg) .999 grade : Rs 19,022 (19,053) Gold (per 10 gm): Standard mint 99.5 purity : Rs 9,092 (9,113) Pure gold 99.9 purity : Rs 9,144 (9,162).
