Rebels say Sri Lanka army hits civilian camp, dozens hurt

COLOMBO, Nov 8 (Reuters) Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger rebels said today several civilians were killed and up to 80 were hurt when army artillery fire hit a camp for internally displaced in the island's restive east.

A team of Nordic truce monitors was on the way to the site of the incident in Kathiraveli in the eastern district of Batticaloa. The military was not immediately available for comment.
