PCB didn't tell us about banned drugs, alleges Asif
New Delhi, Nov 8 (UNI) In what can leave the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) red in the face, banned pacer Mohammad Asif alleged PCB had not informed the cricketers about drugs which are banned.
Speaking to Times Now channel, the pacer, who was slapped a one-year ban by an anti-doping tribunal for testing positive for nandrolone, said he was extremely shock but was hopeful that the ban would be lifted.
''Pakistan Cricket Board never told us about which drugs are banned and I was extremely shocked at the ban,'' said the youngster.
This was in complete contrast with the PCB claim that the cricketers were provided with list of banned substances and they were asked to attend sensitisation sessions.
Apprehensive of what future has in store for him, Asif said, ''I was very sad about missing the Champions Trophy and it would be a huge loss for me if I miss the World Cup.'' The youngster, however, is hoping to return to the side and said, ''I'm still hoping for a comeback and my lawyer has assured me that my appeal against the ban would be successful.''
