Orissa police unearth gem stone racket;four arrested
Sambalpur, Nov 8 (UNI) Police have arrested four persons from a hotel at Rairkhol, about 70 km from here on charges of smuggling gem stones from Orissa and seized 17 quintals of gem stone from their possession.
Police said acting on a tip off they raided the hotel and arrested Siaram Kusua, Sarif Khan, Gulab Khana and Pitabasa Pradhan.
Except Pradhan all the other three were from Madhya Pradesh.
Police had asked the Mining office at Sambalpur to evaluate the cost of the seized gem stone.
The Madhya Pradesh-based businessmen were running the business with help of Pitabas Pradhan and some other locals, police said.
