Nepal government, rebels agree on laying down arms
KATHMANDU, Nov 7 (Reuters) Nepal's interim government and Maoist guerrillas announced today that they had clinched a long-awaited deal to put the rebels' arms under UN supervision to pave the way for holding national elections.
The two sides also agreed not to abolish the troubled Himalayan country's monarchy until a new assembly, due to be elected next year, meets to take a decision.
