MDMK to lead protest against Lankan President's visit

Chennai, Nov 8 (UNI) Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) General Secretary Vaiko will lead a protest demonstration here on November 17 against Sri Lankan President Mahindra Rajapakse's visit to India.

In a statement today, he said the agitation, to be held in front of the Sri Lankan High Commission office here, was to condemn the economic blockade by the Lankan government, preventing flow of food and medicine to the suffering Tamils in Jaffna.

At a time when the Lankan government has resorted to air and ground strikes killing innocent Tamils, Mr Rajapakse is visiting India to get indirect military assistance and also to seek support for genocide of Tamils, he alleged.
