Maruti sale to be taken up by Cabinet soon
New Delhi, Nov 8: Heavy Industries Minister Santosh Mohan Deb today said he had formally proposed the selling of the remaining 10 per cent government equity in Maruti Udyog Ltd, and it would be taken up by the Cabinet shortly.
The Ministry has sent a note to officials and the UPA coalition partners so the sale can be taken up by the Cabinet, he told reporters on the sidelines of a function to give away SCOPE meritorious awards.
''The sale can be done any time,'' Mr Deb said.
Japan's Suzuki Motor Company owns 54.2 per cent equity in Maruti.
