Manipur Tourism festival exhibit adventure and sports

Imphal, Nov 8 (UNI) The Tourism Festival in Manipur entered its third day today with adventure and indigeous sports being the centre of attraction.

The Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA), a co- partner of the organising committee, organised white water rafting on Iril river and distance hiking at Cheiraoching near here today.

Considering the people's fascination for sports, the Tourism festival, organised by the state Tourism department, emphasised on increase in number of adventure and sports activities.

Indigenous games of state were displayed at a few stalls in the festival, sources said.

The games were -- Yubi Lakpi (Rugby), Pang Kangjei (Polo), Arambai (ancient military warfare technique), Mukna Kangjei ( Wrestling and Polo).
