Malaysia looking at India for collaboration
Bangalore, Nov 8: Malaysia is looking at India for collaboration, especially in IT, BT and science and technology sectors, for mutual benefit, Malaysian Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Dr Jamaludin bin Mohd Jaris said today.
Complimenting India for its achievement in the IT field, he said India, especially Bangalore, had made a name worldwide through innovation.
Talking to newspersons here, Dr Jaris said his country offered many incentives to those willing to set up units and if the potential was fully exploited, both the countries could benefit.
Stating that Asian countries possess good market for IT and biotech products, he asked ''why should we look at European, US and UK markets for our products when we have enough market potential in Asian countries.'' Dr Jaris said that during the last two days, he had held talks with various ministries and signed MoUs.
He said Malaysia was investing heavily on improving its physical infrastructure. ''We want to move on to knowlege economy and industrial development from agriculture. Consequently, innovation is necessary in every field to become competitive and for this we are looking to India for cooperation,'' he added.
