LJP demands stringent action against Aussies for humiliating Pawar
Patna, Nov 8 (UNI) Bihar unit of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) today demanded stringent action against the Australian cricket team for humiliating union Agriculture Minister and BCCI president Sharad Pawar during the champions trophy presentation.
As Ricky Ponting and his men gathered together for a photo shoot on Monday during the prize distribution ceremony, one of the players had tapped Mr Pawar on his shoulder signalling him to more off the stage.
In a release here, LJP's minority cell general secretary Ahmad Imam said the International Cricket Council(ICC) should slap a ban of miminum 5 to 10 years on the Australian team for their behaviour.
''Just for a few photo shoots, such arrogant and irresponsible behaviour shows the mentality and attitude of the Australian team,'' he lamented.
''Stringent action by the ICC will send a strong signal and prevent unpleasant incidents in future,'' Mr Ahmad said.
