Legal notice to Aussie cricketers on Pawar's 'humiliation'
Mumbai, Nov 8 (UNI) Noted lawyer Majid Memon today served a legal notice to the Australian High Commission in Delhi as well as Mumbai seeking an apology from the Aussie cricketers for their behaviour towards BCCI president Sharad Pawar during the prize distribution ceremony of the Champions Trophy here on Sunday.
The Australian players, notably captain Ricky Ponting and middle order batsman Damien Martyn were seen tapping Mr Pawar, who is also the president of the NCP, on the shoulder as a gesture to leave the stage after taking the trophy from him.
Mr Memon, who is the national level secretary of the NCP, in his notice has sought a public apology from the Australians for their 'disgraceful' behaviour towards one of the leading figures in Indian politics as well as sports.
