Inquiry into procedure adopted for videography of Shivpuri ponds

Bhopal, Nov 8 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Water Resource Minister Anup Mishra today told the state assembly that an inquiry will be ordered into the departmental procedure adopted for carrying out photography and videography of ponds in Shivpuri district.

Raising the issue during Question Hour, Mr Harivallabh Shukla (Rashtriya Samanata Dal) said rules for photography and videography of ponds were violated and a work of more than Rs 14 lakh was carried out without inviting contracts.

He alleged that payment was made at whims and fancies and demanded an inquiry into the whole matter.

Refuting the allegations of irregularities, Mr Mishra said standard procedure was adopted for inviting quotations and the agency citing lowest quotation was awarded the task.

Describing charges of payment of Rs 14 lakh without set parameters as baseless, the Minister said the job was done from technological viewpoint.

He said he was ready to present the concerned photographs and CDs before the House if the Speaker permitted him to do so.

Mr Govind Singh and Mr Satyadev Katare (both Congress) said when the Minister was stressing that there was no irregularity then why doesn't he order an inquiry.

On this, the Water Resource Minister said he will get an inquiry done into the procedure adopted by the department.
