India's apex fashion body furthers its commitment to the business

Mumbai, Nov 8 (UNI) The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the country's apex fashion body, today announced few major initiatives, thereby punctuating its commitment to the Business of Fashion.

At an interactive meeting with designers and buyers from Western Region held here today, FDCI Director General Rathi Vinay Jha said the initiatives included the opening of an office in the metropolis and signing of an agreement with the Clothing Manufacturers' Association of India (CMAI).

The office in Mumbai will help FDCI and its members in their growth and development. The office, located in the CMAI premises at the Mahalaxmi Chambers in south Mumbai, will be functional from December one. The working of the office will be overseen by FDCI board members -- Krishna Mehta and Arjun Khanna.

The agreement will help both FDCI and CMAI to synergise their strengths towards mutually beneficial areas of development.
