England appreciate Pak ODI offer but refuse to bite at the bait
London, Nov 8 (UNI) England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today appreciated Pakistan's offer to play a one-off match to compensate for the revenue loss in the forefeited Oval Test but felt it would be difficult for them to squeeze in an additional ODI in an already busy schedule.
Confirming the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) offer to play the match, an ECB spokeswoman told BBC Sports, ''We are appreciative of Pakistan's offer and are exploring all options.
''England have a packed schedule next summer and it is unlikely this one-day match can be accommodated,'' she added.
The ECB has been demanding 800,000 pound from its Pakistani counterpart after the Oval Test fiasco, in which England were awarded the match after Pakistan, penalised for alleged ball-tampering, refused to play.
PCB, on its part, refused to pay the compensation, insisting it was umpire Darrell Hair who was responsible for the forfeiture of the match.
