Debashis Das splits point with Vietnam GM in Asian Junior Chess

New Delhi, Nov 8 (UNI) Debashis Das came up with a gritty show to split points with Grandmaster Truongson Nguyen Ngoc of Vietnam in the first round of the Asian Junior Chess tournament here today.

It was a spirited show by the Indian who waged a grim tactical battle till the end and walked away with half point.

IM Deep Sengupta kicked off his journey with a facile win against Hemant Sharma while IM Abhijeet Gupta beat Venkat Sundaram.

In other matches, SP Sethuraman beat Suraj Choudhary, B Adhiban got the better of talented Prince Bajaj and Akshat Khamparia tamed Chaitanya Munjal.
