CPI (M) leader murdered in Tripura

Agartala, Nov 8 (UNI) A local CPI (M) leader was murdered by some unknown miscreants at Dasda in Tripura's north district, a delayed report received here today said.

Party secretary, Dasda branch, Naresh Chandra Debnath (75) was murdered at his Kanchanpur residence on Monday, police said.

He was attacked by some unknown miscreants with sharp weapons, police added. He was alone at home during the attack.

The reason behind the killing was not immediately known. An investigation was on.

The CPI (M) condemned the crime and took out a protest rally at Kanchanpur and Dasda.
