120 cows rescued enroute to abattoirs

Mysore, Nov 8 (UNI) As many as 120 cows, which were being illegally transported in four lorries to slaughter houses in Kerala rpt Kerala from Hassan, were saved by the police here today.

Police said the lorries were detained at Yelawal by the villagers, Bajrang Dal activists and Pinjarapole functionaries. The lorry drivers fled the scene as soon as they noticed the activists.

The rescued cows were taken to Pinjarapole and given shelter.

Three lorries were seized.
