Ramadoss urges to seek world support for Saddam
Chennai, Nov 7 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder leader S Ramadoss today urged India to take support of other countries and save former Iraq President Saddam Hussein from being, sentenced to death.
Describing the sentence as a travesty of justice, Dr Ramadoss, whose party is a constituent of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre, said right from the beginning the trial was biased.
He said the ''puppet court'' had delivered the verdict at the behest of the imperialistic United States.
Lawyers, who had argued on behalf of Mr Hussein, had been shot dead and at least three trial judges were sacked during the trial procedure, Dr Ramadoss pointed out. Iraq was a friendly country to India and Mr Hussein had always been helpful to the people of India, he said.
