Rain dampens hopes of farmers in Manipur
Imphal, Nov 7 (UNI) Heavy rain since last night destroyed standing crops of the harvesting season in many parts of Manipur, official sources said today.
Some farmers said they will have to wait for the land to dry up to begin with next harvesting . ''If the rain continues, a major crop failure is expected'' they apprehended.
MET officials said about 13.2 mm of rainfall was recorded today with the possibility of more down pour.
The max temperature recorded was 29.3 degree Celsius while the minimum was around 15.9 degree Celsius with 98 per cent humidity.
